Meet Good Cube’s new eco-champion Ameliaranne Ekenasio.

Whatever Ameliaranne Ekenasio chooses to do in life, the well-known kiwi netballer leads from the heart.

So that’s why the passionate player – of Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Kahu descent – and mum to Ocean has decided to become the new champion of Good Cube.

“I’m a mum of one and a step-mum of two. It’s really important for me to know that what I’m putting on my kids’ skin and washing down the shower drain is gentle,” explains Ameliaranne.

As a result, she was drawn to trying a Good Cube because it was plastic-free and contained active kiwi botanical ingredients that are kind on hair and skin.

Raise the bar, ditch the plastic

But once the eco-champion learnt more about the fact that every cube stops eight plastic bottles from entering the environment, she decided to collaborate more closely.

“There are better alternatives now to single use plastic – it’s how we learn to incorporate using less plastic in a practical way in our everyday lives that makes the difference,” says Ameliaranne. “I enjoy reducing my impact as much as possible and still have a lot to learn.

“That’s why I’m choosing to support Good Cube, I’m on the road a lot and they are one of the best things to travel with too.”

Being The Change

As a top sportswoman, she loves to use her profile for good.  It’s why she drives change within her team to incorporate as many reusable/plastic-free options as possible. And she openly talks about these. It’s a powerful message to young girls and boys who play sport. It’s also a chance for them to see athletes actively making better choices for our environment. Ameliaranne also likes to support businesses who are doing the right thing.

“We’ve all got to come together and do our part to redirect the future of our Earth for the generations to come. It’s the little actions we all choose to take every day that will add up to big changes,” says Ameliaranne.

Good Cube founder and innovator Ashley Berrysmith couldn’t think of a more perfect fit. He’s overjoyed that Ameliaranne is the first-ever champion of the new brand.

“Ameliaranne is a changemaker for a new generation,” explains Ashley. “I’m inspired by the way she is using her voice to support initiatives that are regenerating Aotearoa New Zealand’s environment… and now Good Cube.”
